Emerging Technologies in Second Grade

These are my viewpoints of the four sets of activities that schools could focus on if instruction is to shift to online learning. The four broad sets of activities described by the authors of "Blended: Using Disruptive Innovation to Improve Schools" are deeper learning, safe care, wraparound services, and fun with friends/extracurricular activities. These are activities that schools could start to embrace with the emergence of online learning. The question is, which is the most important for your community? My community is primarily 7-year-olds that either barely speak English or do not have food at home. Technology in Second Grade... I am teaching second grade in a Title and ELL building. We have a lot of poverty, language, and behavior issues. Usually, in the day-to-day, technology is the last thing on students minds. I want to change that. I want to show students how technology can help them. It can help with their creativity, their production, and their knowledge. Since a lot of these students do not have much technology at home, it is my job at school to prepare them for a future with technology.  Appropriate use of technology will prepare each student for their future. Every job I can think of uses technology in some way.   Most students today have been using mobile devices like tablets and smartphones to play and learn since they could crawl.   It seems only seems logical to align today's classrooms with the way that students are familiar with learning.
